Introduction:
The regulation of the calcium levels depends on the balance between the absorption of calcium across the wall of the intestinal tract and excretion of calcium by the kidney. The parathyroid hormone helps in creating that balance. It is secreted by the parathyroid glands. It helps in reducing extracellular phosphate levels and increasing extracellular calcium levels.
