Introduction: Soil fertility is an essential factor for plant growth and reproduction. Several factors affect fertility of soil which includes climatic changes, moisture, pH, soil content, and nutrients availability. Plant environments that are rich in salts such as Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Cl- are commonly found in desert regions and costal marshes. An excess of nutrients can produce toxic effects to plants affecting normal cellular functions.
