Concept Introduction:

The fluids of the body contain various ions in them and they are in varying concentrations in each of the fluids. These ions basically make up the fluid and are there for the specific functioning that is expected of the fluid in the efficient working of the body. Body fluids are categorized on the basis of the location of the body. The fluid which comprises aqueous medium inside the cell is known as intracellular fluids and a fluid that is present outside the surface of the cell is known as extracellular fluid. Fluid which fills the spaces between adjacent cells is known as interstitial cell.
