Summary Introduction

To determine: The molar ratio of hybrid DNA (N-14-N15) to light DNA (N-14-N15) in a culture of E.coli growing in a medium containing ¹⁵NH₄Cl to medium containing ¹⁴NH₄Cl for three successive generations.

Introduction:

Radioactive labeling experiments are performed for analyzing the intensity of $\text{DNA}$ bands labeled with light band (N-14) and dark band (N-15) in successive generations in E.coli. The method of replication is semi-conservative where one strand is light colored and other strand is dark colored in the next generation after DNA replication.
