Introduction:

The mtDNA or mDNA is significant in the human genome and can be inherited only from the mother. This DNA is located inside the mitochondria of the cell. It is known that mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell as it produces energy in the form of ATP. So, any mutation in the mDNA may result in lack of fitness in the tissue.
