Introduction:

The extrinsic salivary glands are located in the exterior of the oral mucosa consist of large, discrete three pairs of organs. These tubuloacinar glands have a tree like tube that leads to the oral cavity.  At the twig end, it can be mucous in some cases and purely serous sometimes or mixed acini sometimes. Watery fluids with abundant electrolytes and enzymes are secreted by the serous cells.
