Introduction:
Food passes from mouth into the esophagus and then into the stomach where various enzymes are being secreted to assist in the process of digestion. Stomach secretions include hydrochloric acid, gastrin, mucus, histamine, pepsinogen and some intrinsic factor. Various types of cells present in the stomach are involved in these secretions.
