Strawberry poison-dart frogs (Dendrobates pumilio) are found in Central America mainly in the Costa Rica and adjacent mainland of Panama. Pumiliotoxin is the main toxin found in these frogs due to their dietary intake of formicine ants. These frogs exhibit an amazing array of color variation which is considered to be the basis of intraspecific male mating call,which ultimately lead to a fall in the entire population into one species.
