DNA plays an important role in a cell as it contains all the information required by a cell for its development and function. Protein: Proteins are complex biomolecules, made up of long chains of amino acids. Proteins play many important roles in a cell. Proteins are needed for structure (keratin), function (hemoglobin), and regulation (enzymes).
