Chapter 23, Problem 7WIO
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The role of different organ systems during exercising in the gym and three hypothesis that explain the reason for finding identical workouts easier on some days as compared to others.
Introduction:
There are eleven organ systems in the body namely integumentary, nervous, circulatory, muscular, skeletal, lymphatic, respiratory, endocrine, urinary/excretory, reproductive and digestive. These organ systems are responsible for efficient functioning of the body. The functioning of each and every organ system is dependent on the functioning of other organ systems of the body. The organ systems together form a functional body.

Make and keep a list of the general principles of physiology. See if you can explain what is meant by each principle. To really see how well you’ve learned physiology at the end of your course, remember to return to the list you’ve made and try this exercise again at that time.
The benefits of increased daily physical exercise include all of the following, EXCEPT:
Question 14 options:
providing a distraction to limit over-eating
improving fitness levels and quality of life
reducing insulin resistance in effector tissues
burning an abundance of calories
What does research suggest about regular physical activity's effect on the life span?
A. Consuming a healthful diet while engaging in regular physical activity can reduce oxidative stress without the need for Calories
B. People genetically predisposed toward a lean body type live longer even if they eat poorly and fail to engage in regular physical activity
C. Excercise increases the risk for osteoporosis and fractures, reducing life span
D. To prolong life span, physical activity must be performed at least four times a week in sessions lasting at least 45 minutes
