Introduction:

The progressive degradation of the functional body system is called senescence. It is basically the process of growing old. It is also referred as biological aging. The signs of aging start with the adulthood after the age of thirty. The body stops cooperating with the external and internal situations.

It refers to both cellular level and organism level. Both the cells and individual starts to have continuing deteriorative changes. In senescence, the body does not function according to the requirements of the individual. The period of senescence starts with the old age of a person till his/her death.
