Gram staining is the one of the most common procedures used in the field of microbiology to stain a culture of microorganisms. Depending on the results of this test bacteria can be classified as gram positive and gram negative. After the staining id done gram positive bacteria will be visible in purple and gram negative bacteria in pink under the observation of a microscope.
