Chapter 23, Problem 23.44SP
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

An organic compound can have many structures by which they can be represented, such as molecular formula, Lewis structure, structural formula, line-drawing and condensed structural formula.

Concept introduction:

The ultimate condensed formula is a line-angle formula, in which carbon atoms are implied at the corners and ends of lines, and each carbon atom is understood to be attached to enough hydrogen atoms to give each carbon atom four bonds.

  1. The carbon atoms and the hydrogen atoms attached to them are not shown as C and H respectively.
  2. Only the bonds between the carbon atoms are shown as lines, single bond as Chemistry, Chapter 23, Problem 23.44SP , additional homework tip 1double bond as Chemistry, Chapter 23, Problem 23.44SP , additional homework tip 2and triple bond as Chemistry, Chapter 23, Problem 23.44SP , additional homework tip 3
  3. The vertices and end of lines represent the carbon atoms.
  4. The valencies on carbon are assumed to be filled by hydrogen atoms.
  5. All atoms attached to carbon are shown other than carbon and hydrogen atoms.

Given:

Chemical formula - C7H16

To determine:

To draw straight-chain alkane with the formula C7H16 as a condensed structure and as a line drawing.

can someone draw out the reaction mechanism for this reaction showing all bonds, intermediates and side products Comment on the general features of the 1H-NMR spectrum of isoamyl ester provided below
What would be the best choices for the missing reagents 1 and 3 in this synthesis? 1. PPh3 3 2. n-BuLi • Draw the missing reagents in the drawing area below. You can draw them in any arrangement you like. • Do not draw the missing reagent 2. If you draw 1 correctly, we'll know what it is. • Note: if one of your reagents needs to contain a halogen, use bromine. Click and drag to start drawing a structure.
