The air inspired is transported to the alveoli in the lungs, where the exchange of gases takes place. The exchange of gases depends on the partial pressure of the gases. The oxygen from the alveoli (partial pressure of oxygen is more than blood) reversible bind to the Hb (hemoglobin) in the blood and produces compound oxyhemoglobin.
