Indeterminate growth in plants allows plants to survive for a long time. When the water and minerals are present in a favourable amount, then the plants grow and store the food. The stored food is used when the conditions are not favorable. Suppose, if a plant does not have indeterminate growth, then the plant will die due to unavailability of the water and the minerals. Hence, indeterminate growth is advantageous for the plants to grow when enough water and minerals are available.
