Explanation There are three main functions of the lymphatic system: Fluid Balance: Every day, 30 L of fluid in the capillary networks leave the blood and move in the interstitial spaces of the body. Only 27 L fluid return to the blood from the interstitial spaces. Extra 3 L fluid remains in the interstitial space as a part of interstitial fluid then it causes edema and lead to tissue damage and eventually death.
