Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The respiratory system is a major system that functions predominantly in the exchange of gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide. It starts from the external nostril to the alveoli of the lungs. The respiratory tract is lined by various types of type’s epithelial cells, such as squamous, cuboidal, and pseudo stratified columnar epithelial cells. The alveoli are lined by non-ciliated simple squamous epithelium with scanty smooth muscles and belong to the respiratory zone that plays a key role in the exchange of gases.
