Concept Introduction:Chronic alcoholism is a condition in which a person typically drinks alcohol every day and the person has likely been doing so for many years.
Liver in the human body provides the natural detox facility. The function of the liver is to detoxify certain chemicals by making then undergo oxidation, reduction or coupling with other chemicals.
Liver also converts few highly toxic chemicals into less toxic chemicals. For example, highly toxic nicotine is converted into less toxic cotinine by the enzymes present in the liver.
