Interpretation:

The information required to explain if the lagging and leading strands in yeast undergo replication with equal fidelity should be provided.

Concept Introduction:

In deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), there are two strands. One of the two strands in DNA is a leading strand and it undergoes replication in the 3' to 5' direction. The other strand of DNA is the lagging strand. The lagging strand is found at the junction or at the replication fork in the double helix DNA and it undergoes replication discontinuously in small fragments. It also needs a small delay before the replication of lagging strands starts.

The fidelity of replication means the percentage of nucleotides which are incorporated with the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) polymerase correctly on the new strand with respect to the parent strand.
