Question
Chapter 21.7, Problem 47AYP
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The changes in resistance and blood pressure as blood flows through the aorta to the venae cavae.
Introduction:
Initially blood is pumped at high pressure and velocity in the aorta; therefore resistance of the blood flow is less. For a healthy individual normal blood pressure is120 mm Hg during systole and 80 mm Hg during diastole. As the blood travel from capillaries to veins, the pressure is low, and this slow down in the flow is referred to as resistance.
