The energy taken into the body is either stored or appears in two other forms.

Introduction:

The input of energy into the body comes in the form of nutrients absorbed. The total energy intake is the total energy content from all the absorbed nutrients. The body liberates energy through oxidation of molecules, part of which is stored and rest of the energy released is used in the catabolic reactions which appear in two forms of heat and work.
