Introduction:

Complement proteins (C1–C9) are produced in the liver, macrophage, and epithelial cells in the gastrointestinal mucosa. They circulate in the blood until it gets activated by the macrophage. The activation of complement proteins leads to a cascade of reaction. It is a group of globulins synthesized by the liver, which confers a powerful contribution to the adaptive and innate immunity. The activated complement protein destroys the pathogen by four methods, namely immune clearance, inflammation, phagocytosis, and cytolysis.
