Interpretation:
Interpret and draw the structure of 5 amino acids, general amino acid and R group in each structure of amino acid should be circled.
Concept Introduction:
Amino acids are the structural unit of polypeptide molecule which consists of a carboxyl group at one end and amino group on other end. Alkyl group is also present in most of the amino acid to create chirality in the molecule while amino acids with no alkyl group known as achiral.
Glycine and alanine are example of amino acid which consist of amino and carboxyl group. Amino group of one amino acid linked to carboxyl group of 2nd amino acid and linear chain is created to produce a polypeptide structure.
