The strength of the base can be determined from their ability to accept the hydrogen ion. The base can be of two types based on their strength. The two types are a strong base and a weak base.
The strong base can easily accept the hydrogen ion/proton. The weak basecannot easily accept the hydrogen ion/proton. The bases form hydroxide ions.
The property of corrosion by a base depends on the hydroxide ions and not the type of the base.
If the weak base solution is more concentrated than the strong base solution, it will produce more number of hydroxide ions and can be more corrosive than the strong base.
