To determine:

The origin of the common iliac arteries, their branching into external and internal iliac arteries, the two trunks of the internal iliac, names of the branches of these two trunks, and the organs and tissues supplied by those branches.

Introduction:

As the aorta passes through the aortic hiatus, it goes down to the abdominal cavity and then ends at the level of vertebra L4. At L4 it branches into right and left common iliac arteries. The abdominal aorta is termed as retroperitoneal.
