Concept introduction: Hes7 genes are involved in the somite cell production of the vertebrates. Hes7 is a self-regulator. The transcription is initiated only when the protein decays. Hes7 gene is found in the chromosome 17 of hu7mans and belongs to Hairy and Enhancer of Split family of proteins. Hes7 is activated by Notch-Delta signaling.
