Introduction:
Adrenal glands are situated anterior to the kidneys and are composed of cortex and medulla. The adrenal medulla occupies the inner position in the gland and secretes the hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine. On the other hand, the adrenal cortex occupies the exterior position and secretes a variety of steroid hormones termed as corticosteroids. The cortex comprises 80% of the adrenal gland.
