HGH or somatotropin is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth in children and is naturally produced in the pituitary gland. It is vital for cell regeneration, growth, and maintenance of tissues of organs including the brain. If it is secreted, it stays in the blood for a few minutes when the liver converts it to an insulin-like growth factor that promotes growth in cells of the body. But sports athletes inject HGH to promote weight and build muscles which help in anti-aging.
