External risks are dangers that come from the natural world without human influence. One example would be extreme weather, such as hurricanes or tornados. Manufactured risk are dangers created by the actions of humans. A very current example of this is global warming. Globalization can inspire policies that create environmental risk, for example strip mining. New health risks associated with globalization include suicide caused by the stress of working in factories in Asia.
