Concept introduction:

The moles of any compound or element can be calculated by given formula:

n=mM

Where, n is number of moles, m is given mass, and M is molar mass.

In ionic compounds, the moles of each ion are equal to the moles of its formula unit.

For example; 1 mole of NaCl will have 1 mole of Na+ -ion and 1 mole of Cl- -ion.

The conversion factor for metric ton to gram is as follows:

1 metric ton = 1000 kg = 106 g
