The nitrogen-fixing bacteria, such as Rhizobium, Klebsiella, and Frankia form a symbiotic relationship with plant species (legumes). They benefit the plants by reducing the nitrogen gas into ammonia. This makes the nitrogen available for absorption to the plants.
