Chapter 20, Problem 18P
Summary Introduction

To determine: The significance of the given observation in regards to CO2 assimilation process and the way in which light dependent reactions of photosynthesis are related.

Introduction:

The photosynthesis is a process in which the green plants and algae obtain their nutrients by using solar energy, carbon dioxide, and water. This process takes place in chloroplast where the chlorophyll molecules are present. The chloroplast contains thylakoid molecules where light reaction takes place. The end product of the light reaction is formation of ATP and NADPH. These  energy storing molecules together help in driving the Calvin cycle in stroma of chloroplast.

Summary Introduction

To determine: The reason that why the conversion of 14CO2 to glucose stop after a short time.

Introduction:

Photosynthesis involves a number of steps that uses sunlight, carbon dioxide and water to generate organic carbon compounds and oxygen. This process involves two types of reactions: light reaction and dark reaction.
