Interpretation:
The chemical formulas for the elements that normally exist in nature as diatomic molecules are to be determined.
Concept Information:
The substances that are unable to be degraded into simpler substances are known as an element.
The molecules which contain single atoms are called monatomic molecules and those contain two different atoms are called diatomic molecules.
The element symbols and the subscripts in an ionic compound are represented with the help of a chemical formula.
While writing the chemical formula for an ionic compound, the symbol of the metal is written first which is then followed by the symbol of the non-metal.
Electrical neutrality is maintained in all the chemical compounds. Due to this, the ions that are present in an ionic compound have a fixed ration in such a way that the positive charge is equal to the negative charge.
