The way by which one can convince a 10-year-old child that the Earth is round. The evidence that can be offered to prove that Earth is flat and the way by which one can counter those objections.
Answer to Problem 1TC
It is possible to convince a 10-year-old child that the Earth is spherical by telling him that although Earth appears to be flat, it is spherical. To give support to this, the diagram of a lunar eclipse can be drawn in the sand and a circular shadow of Earth can be noted on the moon.
Explanation of Solution
The Earth is very big and due to this, it appears flat from the surface of the Earth. However, in real it is spherical. It should be told to the boy that the nearby bodies such as moon and sun look spherical even though they are circular. The diagram of lunar eclipse can be drawn on the sand of a seashore and make him notice the shadow of Earth on the moon that is circular. Present photos of Apollo expeditions can be also be shown to him to support for the circular shape of Earth.
