In the US, it will be winter whereas, in Australia, it will be summer. The rays of the sun fall directly on the Southern Hemisphere when the South Pole is slanted towards the sun and this results in the warmer longer days in the Southern Hemisphere. As the Northern Hemisphere away from, it will experience winter. Thus, When Australia faces the summer season it is winter in the United States.
