To determine

Explain the similarities between the Shewhart cycle and DMAIC.

Explanation of Solution

The Shewhart cycle is usually called as PDSA which is the combination of “Plan”, “Do”, “Study” and “Act”. It is an iterative process and require many cycles to solve complex problems.

In a six-sigma process, the Shewhart cycle is known as DMAIC, which is the combination of “Define”, “Measure”, “Analyze”, “Improve”, and “Control”. This procedure is used to complete projects by proceeding and providing permanent solutions. Moreover, it can be replicated in any business operations.

Both of these systems are searching ways to modify and improve the quality and processes.
