Summary Introduction

To describe:

The acid rain trends that is evident from the EPA data.

Introduction:

Acid rain is referred to the precipitation having a pH less than 5. These could be rain, snow or even atmospheric particles. The main reason for this is the combining of water with oxides of sulfur and nitrogen to make sulfuric acid and nitric acid, respectively.

Explanation of Solution

The EPA (Environmental protection agency) data graphs the amount of acid rain received in USA from 1980-2015. The graph clearly depicts that the amount of acid rain has decreased gradually over the years as a result of the strict laws against emissions.

Sulfuric acid has been the most commonly found acid in these rains in respect to its quantity as well as time. In 1980, approximately 17 million tons of sulphur dioxides precipitated. The precipitation gradually decimated to 3 million tons in 2015.

On the other hand, oxides of nitrogen became a part of the acid rain around 1995 with almost 6 million tons of precipitation. This came down to about 1.5 million tons in 2015.

Conclusion

The acid rains have reduced in the United States over the years from 1980-2015 according to the EPA data.

After you feel comfortable with your counting method and identifying cells in the various stages of mitosis, use the four images below of whitefish blastula to count the cells in each stage until you reach 100 total cells, recording your data below in Data Table 1. (You may not need to use all four images. Stop counting when you reach 100 total cells.) After totaling the cells in each stage, calculate the percent of cells in each stage. (Divide total of stage by overall total of 100 and then multiply by 100 to obtain percentage.)   Data Table 1Stage    Totals    PercentInterphase        Mitosis:        Prophase        Metaphase        Anaphase        Telophase        Cytokinesis        Totals    100    100% To find the length of time whitefish blastula cells spend in each stage, multiply the percent (recorded as a decimal, in other words take the percent number and divide by 100) by 24 hours.
