The protein erythropoietin has been implemented into various clinical uses like in the treatment of myelodysplasia, which occurs from the treatment of chemotherapy and radiation. It is also used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, Crohns’ disease, ulcerative colitis, chronic kidney disease (CKD) and anemia.
