The ossification of bone provides indication of the age.
Introduction:
The formation of bone is called bone osteogenesis or bone ossification. The process starts in embryonic development between 6th and 7th week. The osteogenesis generally continues till the age of twenty-five. The endochondral and intramembranous are the two type of bone ossification. The mesenchymal tissue directly converts to bone in intramembranous ossification. The endochondral ossification uses cartilage as a intermediate to transform mesenchyme to bones.
