Triatomic molecule is a type of molecule that contains three atoms. The three atoms may be from a same element or different element. This series goes on like this as tetraatomic, pentaatomic molecules etc.
If the molecules are to be classified on basis of observation then two types can be given. Homoatomic molecules are the ones that have the atoms of same kind in the molecule. Molecules that contains same type of atoms in it has to be an element. Heteroatomic molecule is the one that contains two or more kinds of atoms in a molecule.
