Question
Chapter 19, Problem 26QAP
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The geometry of the complex
Concept introduction:
The geometry of any complex is the spatial arrangement of ligands around the central metal cation. The chemical and most of the physical properties of the complex depends on this geometrical arrangement only.
The number of ligands attached to the metal cation shows its co-ordination number.

Pink Blue
1). When silver nitrate is added the blue color becomes pink. Why is that ?
2. When heat is added , in which direction the equilibrium will shift ? Is this reaction exothermic or endothermic ?
3.What happens when the temperature is lowered in the ice bath ?
Consider the equilibrium reaction below.
[Cu(H₂O)6]²+ (aq) + 4 Cl (aq)
light blue
[CuCl4]² (aq) + 6 H₂O (1)
