Explanation of Solution

The DNA (deoxyribose nucleic acid) is made up of stacks of nucleotides that are joined to each other by phosphodiester bond vertically and horizontally by H-bonds. The adenine and thymine form two H-bonds while the bases guanine and cytosine form three H-bonds. The DNA is a double helical structure that has the phosphate-sugar backbone and the nitrogenous bases form the stacks of the DNA that are present towards the inner direction of the helical molecule.

The methods that are used for genomic sequencing are Sanger’s sequencing, chain termination sequencing, high-throughput sequencing methods, next-generation sequencing, and so on. The metagenomic analysis can be done with the help of bioinformatics tools like KEGG (Kyoto encyclopedia for gene and genomes) where the function and metabolic information on different genes and proteins can be identified from a large repository of data.
