An enhancer is a regulatory sequence on the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). It is located far from the promoter base sequence. In eukaryotes, they also assist in initiating transcription like the core promoter sequence. They get associated with transcriptional factors, which are proteins during initiation of transcription.
