To describe:
The process through which gene expression can be influenced after mRNA is processed and leaves the nucleus.
Introduction:
Gene expression is used for the production of genetic products, through the genetic instruction stored in our DNA. The gene expression provides the cell the ability of self controlling its function. Gene expression mainly involves in transcription and translation of gene to control the mRNA and the protein synthesis rate. During transcription both the coding and non-coding regions of DNA are transcribed into mRNA. Non-coding regions (introns) are removed and mRNA is processed. The coding regions (exons) are spliced together and polyadenylation is done for the export of mRNA out of the nucleus. The mRNA is then used to synthesize proteins through the expression of different genes. Translation of mRNA into proteins illustrates another tier in gene expression.
