Person B and Person C conducted nonsense mutation on E. coli strain. During mutation, the structural gene encodes an enzyme called L-ribulokinase that allows the bacteria to metabolize arabinose sugar. The revertants of mutant strain showed two different suppressor mutation R1 and SuB. R1is the original mutation in L-ribulokinase and not able to metabolize arabinose sugar as the enzyme encoded by the wild type allele. The second suppressor mutation SuB is not linked to the original mutation. However, the second suppressor able to produce L-ribulokinase in conjunction with R1 mutation
