Stray current is a transient concept where the corrosion only occurs at the point of discharge. The stream is a transitory and dynamic phenomenon. The discharge point (POD) causes only corrosion. There is no corrosion at point of entry (POE) and throughout the whole stream scheme. In reality, at the entry stage, stray current gives the metallic structure certain levels of cathodic protection.
