Introduction:

The human ear is composed of the three major divisions namely the outer ear, middle ear, and the inner ear. The outer ear contains the ear pinna (auricle) and external auditory meatus (external acoustic meatus or the external auditory canal). The tympanic membrane (eardrum) separates the external ear from the middle ear. The middle ear contains the three ear ossicles and the semicircular canals. The inner ear consists of the semicircular canals and the spiral organ (cochlea).
