Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The halogenation reaction of ethene is given:

$C_2{H}_4(g)+X_2(g)\rightleftharpoons C_2{H}_4{X}_2(g)$

Where X₂ can be Cl₂, Br₂, or I₂. The values of ΔH°, ΔS°, ΔG°, and K_p for the halogenation reaction by each of the three halogens at 25 °C are to be calculated by the use of given thermodynamic data. The most and least spontaneous reactions are to be identified. The main factor responsible for the difference in the spontaneity of the three reactions is to be explained. Further, it is to be explained whether higher temperature make the reactions more spontaneous or less spontaneous.
