The carbon is exchanged among the biosphere (pedosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere) of the earth through a biogeochemical cycle known as the carbon cycle. In the carbon cycle, plants are used to absorb atmospheric CO2 through which it is removed from the environment.
