Interpretation:
The properties of CFCs that make them ideal for various commercial applications but also make them a long-term problem in the stratosphere are to be stated.
Concept introduction: Chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) is defined as an organic compound having carbon, fluorine and chlorine atoms. CFCs belong to a general class of organic compounds known as halocarbons which are halogen and carbon compounds. They contribute to the ozone depletion in the upper atmosphere. They are common known as Freon’s.
